He showed up upon the sands of time. No one knew Him as He strolled all by Himself beside the river. The gentle, salty wind blew over His face as He reveled in its cool freshness. He strolled down with purpose, looking towards the tasks ahead. It is His turn to step onto the grand stage of life, fulfilling all ever spoken of Him. Now set His mind on the eternal purpose in God. As He emerged, His people was blind to His essence, nor recognize Him as the One spoken of in the volume of books. Nothing surpassed being on the divine mission of His Creator.

Alas! On the boisterous sea, men plied their trade, scavenging the sea for their daily sustenance. But, He had come that all might have life, yet possessed neither ship nor fishing net. Still, a Master of the essence of life, divine yet undeniably human.

As He journeyed onward, His gaze fell upon the brothers toiling for their daily sustenance. With the divine plan ablaze within Him, He called out, “Follow Me!”

He had no time to waste. He knew all men, including women. So He called forth the first two, the third, and the last. There, His mission commenced. He had chosen His disciples for the work ahead. Imperfect they might have been, yet His heart overflowed with divine love and mercy. He held unwavering faith in them, believing in the best within each of them. As He believes in us even now. In you, yes, you!

His Love

He gave His all as He walked the earth with twelve men, and other immortal and imperfect men and women. He traversed villages, suburbs, towns, and cities – homeless, yet brimming with purpose. He carried the eternal message in His heart. He didn’t come to play. A divine and everlasting mission propelled Him forward. He was consumed by one desire – to reconcile all humans to God. They might not know it but it didn’t change the truth. And you also may not know that but it doesn’t change the truth. His Father’s love burns with unquenchable flame for the unrighteous and righteous. He wants all humans back to fellowship with Him. That no one should perish in eternal hell but that all should come to His knowledge. He sent His beloved Son, to humankind, though they cast Him aside.

And many continue to do so. Perhaps, you are one of them that doesn’t believe so. Let me ask you: Do you cling to your own understanding of how to connect with the divine? You wouldn’t be the first. Even His own tribe, to this day, hasn’t embraced Him. Yet, those considered distant received Him with open arms. And to all who receive Him in their hearts, He grants the power to become children of God.

Therefore He came, not as a domineering ruler, but as One who demonstrated love. He called to all—men, women, children, young and old, those of faith and those without, wealthy and impoverished, sinners and the self-righteous, the learned and the untutored. He called, and He continues to call, all to come to Him. No other sacrifice can bring salvation; it is only through Jesus that the path is opened to God. It may seem too simple, yet therein lies the profound truth.

He crisscrossed the land of the living, calling all to repentance, proclaiming God’s Kingdom to mankind. But humanity scoffed Him, and many still do. He came as a Lamb to save you and I. His return will be as a King to render judgment. It’s never too late to consider Him now.

Going about, He did good, healing all oppressed by the devil. For God, His Father, had anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and power. He was never alone on earth; His Father was with Him, invisibly accompanying Him wherever He went. Through Him, the Father touched lives, as He continues to do today.

He came to His own people, but they did not all recognize Him. Wrongly accused, He was led to judgment and condemned to death. He offered no appeal, no defense against them. This, we know, is not the way of humankind in our time.

He was arraigned before the judge of His time, but He did not contest the judgment. He seemed powerless. Yet, remember, the foolishness of God is greater than human wisdom. He surrendered to the harsh judgment and the cruelty that followed.

Before this, He walked among them, preaching, teaching, and healing all manner of diseases. He even raised the dead to life. He fed thousands with mere bread and fish, saving them from starvation. He was gentle and meek, divine love personified.

Turning Away

The Father had a bigger plan through His death and resurrection. He scripted it in the eternal covenant before the foundation of the world. He knew that men and women would exercise their moral will to walk away from His shelter and comfort like the prodigal son. Yes, we all have strayed and gone our own ways. We rejected the divine purity and fellowship with the One who created us. We follow after that which is not God.

Humans turn to idols, worshiping creations that fail to satisfy their souls. Anguish piles upon anguish. Insatiable desires and lust burn like wildfire, consuming all. War, famine, greed, oppression, and deprivation plague the world. Pause the music and exhale.

Just like us, Jesus experienced the temptations of this world. He faced every challenge we do, yet He emerged victorious. He possesses a deep understanding of human weakness. Trust me, He truly gets it. No temptation you face is beyond His experience. He knows our limitations. He knows the pain of rejection, even from those who professed love.

He began His journey alone, and on the cross, He died alone. He paid the ultimate price for sins He never committed. His body, lacerated like that of the worst criminal, bore the marks of an innocent sacrifice. He suffered for humanity, blood and water flowing profusely from His side. It was the worst death to befall anyone, a price paid for sins and crimes not His own.

Think for a while like the Ethiopian eunuch on his way back from Jerusalem! He wondered who Isaiah was talking about in Isaiah 53. Why should a righteous man die a gruesome death like His?

Out of love, God the Father chose to let Jesus experience all these sufferings for one reason: to take away the punishment for sin that all humanity has faced since the beginning of time.

His physical death on the cross wasn’t the end. He endured a separation from the Father for a brief moment. This is why He cried out on the cross, “My God! My God! Why have you forsaken Me?” Matthew 27:46. Throughout His earthly ministry, He enjoyed a close connection with the Father. However, on the cross, He bore humanity’s sin, and He suffered a temporary separation from God. Scripture tells us that God considers anyone hung on a tree to be cursed (Deuteronomy 21:23). By taking on that curse, Jesus took on the sin of the world.

As humanity nailed Him to the cross, the Father’s “eyes are purer than to behold evil, and He cannot look on wickedness. Habakkuk 1:13. In that moment, the Father averted His gaze from His Son, who bore not only the dreadful weight of humanity’s sin, but also our sicknesses, diseases, and abject poverty. The Father looked away! And so, He died alone.

It Didn’t End There

Yes, it didn’t. His Spirit and Soul descended to the bottom of hell. He descended fast to “hell that has enlarged herself and opened her mouth without measure” to receive Him. Isaiah 5:14. All the hordes of wicked spirits, including Satan, rejoiced as He descended to them! His arrival triggered a cataclysmic response: earthquakes, thunder, and flashes of lightning. A tremor of jubilation rippled through the underworld – their “tormentor” from the earthly realm had finally arrived, destined for eternal damnation. However, their celebration was short-lived.

Alas, before they could hold Him captive in hell, the heavenly decree unfolded. It proclaimed: “A soul that sins shall die.” Ezekiel 18:20. This means a soul that practices sin on earth until death will not only face physical death, but also eternal separation from God and the torment of eternal fire.

Glorrrrrrrry be to God on High. Glory be to Him who is all wise. Jesus was not a sinner on earth. No, He didn’t practice sin. I can imagine the Holy Angels of God presenting Jesus’ life credential before the demonic horde of hell. Their countenance must have dropped in shame. The Eternal Spirit of the Father entered Jesus and raised Him from death. He died in corruption but raised in glory.

It didn’t end there. the Word of God says that the Lord Jesus did something to Satan and his cohorts. Let me quote some interesting Bible verses for you. Glory!!!!

Colossians 2:15
Amplified version says, When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross.

Common English Bible says, “When he disarmed the rulers and authorities, He exposed them to public disgrace by leading them in a triumphal parade.

Easy-to-Read version says, He defeated the rulers and powers of the spiritual world. With the cross he won the victory over them and led them away, as defeated and powerless prisoners for the whole world to see.”

The Message version says, “When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets. The underlined words are hilarious, right! Ain’t they? Laugh it out. Glory be to God!

The Passion Translation says, “Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were His!

What a great victory! What a relief! The Lord Jesus disarmed them. He collected the keys of hell and death from Satan. Jesus said so in Revelation 1:18, “I am He that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

End of discussion. We have the victory in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah! For those who are in Christ Jesus, that is the victory we inherited from Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We have His victory.

A Good Shepherd

Let me tell you. Satan is an enemy of God and equally ours, make no mistake. He burns with hatred for humanity, and if given the chance, would wipe us out without a second thought. His mission on earth is clear: to steal, kill, and destroy. John 10:10. But thanks be to God, the Lord Jesus has come that we might have God’s kind of life and have it more abundantly. “For this purpose the Son of God (JESUS) was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8

Jesus is a Good Shepherd. He said in John 10:11-14, “The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.”

The Lord Jesus is a Good Shepherd. For you that do not yet know Him as that, though you are born again, you can think on those scriptures and pray them until they sink into your subconscious and become your reality.

Friends, if you are reading this and you do not yet see Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have another chance today to turn to God. It is a time to act, whenever you look within and you feel, “Oh, I’m not right with God. I’m not sure if I will make paradise, if I die today because of all this happening around me.”

I have good news for you. You can make that paradise at the end of life. As long as you have breath on this earth, there’s hope to mend your relationship with Him. You can accept Him as your Lord and Savior today. Simply say and believe in your heart:

“Jesus, I believe you came to the earth in flesh, you walked this earth, was killed and You rose on the third day. You paid the prize for my sins with Your blood that was shed on the cross. I believe in my heart and confess now that, Jesus, you are my Savior and my Lord from today till eternity. Thank you Lord. Amen.”

You believe that? Go back and say it loud to yourself. It is as simple as that.

Glory be to God! You are now His.

And for us that have come to know the Lord Jesus for sometime now, I will say, Don’t stop pursuing after Him. Don’t stop pressing further into Him. He is all ours. He has redeemed us from sin and death. The Father has carried us from the kingdom of Satan into His own Son’s marvelous light.
