I don’t mean some form of secret enclave where demons inhabit. I’m talking about My Me-Time with God; when the Holy Spirit reveals His mystery to my heart, directs my life path to a bright future in Him, transforms ordinary life into supernatural. This is the secret place of the Most High.

The prophet Ezekiel once tapped into the realm of God and witnessed the dreadfulness of the Most High. He wrote:

“And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne in appearance like a sapphire stone, and seated above the likeness of a throne was a likeness with the appearance of a Man.Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.” Ezekiel 1 verses 26 – 28.

This is just an illustration

The appearance of the Son of Man. The One who clothes Himself with great fire. Mighty in glory. A consuming fire. The dreadfulness of the Lord.

The One that says, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. John 14: 21.

The One who says, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.John 14:23.

I know that the Spirit of God lives inside you and me as children of God. But Jesus says that He and the Father will come and make their dwelling place in us. The Spirit is in us, and the Son and the Father want to live in us as well. They want to dwell with us and inhabit us—the Godhead—and tabernacle with us, the fullness of God.

The One who has the appearance of fire dwells in you and with you.

Yeah, he (including she) that dwells in the secret place of the Most High abides under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91). The secret place. The path that no bird knows, nor has the falcon’s eye seen it. Job 28:7.

The secret place. The hidden place of the Most High. The four living creatures in His presence came out of a great dark cloud with raging fire engulfing itself (Ezekiel 1:4).

Even the Almighty Father “made darkness His secret place; His canopy around Him was dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. From the brightness before Him, His thick clouds passed with hailstones and coals of fire.“ Psalm 18:11-20.

Have you experienced the dreadfulness of the Lord? Have you entered into His secret place? There is mystery that ordinary eyes cannot see. They are written all over the pages of His Word. The Most High dwells inside of you, yet you cannot see Him. You walk around without being conscious of Him. He dwells with you, yet you know not. Nor keep Him in your thoughts. You walk around as though you are alone. The Most High is in you and with you. He is not far from you but you are the one that refuses to acknowledge Him.

The fullness of God dwells bodily in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:9). His fullness dwells in us because we are a part of His body. Are you aware of this? Do you pause to think about it?

Please, withdraw to your quiet place. Separate yourself to the solitude of the day and night. Pour yourself over it and allow His tangible presence to wash over you. Let Him brood on you. Let His dreadfulness bellow on your mortal body until you are consumed with His presence.

His majesty in your mortal body. His glory radiating from His eternal Being into your spirit, soul and mortal body. Moses dwelt in the presence of the Eternal Being. His body shone with the glory of the Lord. His appearance changed.

The Lord Jesus was transfigured before three mortal men and “they fell on their faces and were seized with alarm and struck with fear.” Matthew 17:6. But the Master came and “touched them and said, Get up, and do not be afraid.” verse 7.

What Is Your Experience Lately?

Have you encountered Him lately in a tangible way? I mean, the tangible presence of the Most High! Has He walked into your space to tangibly brood on you?

He wants to, but it’s you that has not sought Him enough. You have not elevated Him above any other being or thing. You have not made Him First and Last. You still have options. He is not yet your all in all. But Him in you wants to lead you into that secret place. But He will not override your will. Until you seek Him. Until you give Him a special me-moment with Him. He has put His Spirit in you. What are you doing with Him?

Do you ignore Him all day? Do you ask Him things concerning the Father and even our Lord Jesus? Do you talk to Him?

Do you tell Him to help you know the Father more? Or do you just keep asking for things He has given you?

Me-Time With God

Are you intentional about seeking Him? Are you intentional in talking to Him in your heart?

What do you do when that sleep drains from your eyes in the middle of the night? Do you turn on your phone to catch up on those new message alerts? David said in Psalms 63:1, “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You…” Do you seek Him early in the morning?

He is waiting for you. You are busy pouring yourself over that which profits little (if at all). But you ignore that which profits much spiritually and also causes the physical to yield to you.

The Godhead is in you! Don’t shortchange yourself.

The Mighty One in you waits for you to seek first the things from above. He is gentle. He will not force you. Neither will He condemn you because He is love. He will not force Himself on you. It is up to you.

Our Lord Jesus exemplified this while He was here on earth. Mark 1:35-36. Very early the next morning before daylight, Jesus got up and went to a place where he could be alone and pray. Simon and the others started looking for him.”

Your own Simon and others are now social media notifications looking for you as soon as you wake up. The cares of this world choke the desire to seek Him from your spirit. The Lord is willing to help you. Only if you will desire Him.

The secret place. The Me-time with God: the sacred time I spend with God, a time shared by none but Him and me. The time I set aside to seek my Maker all the days of my life. Let Him be as real to you as the skin on your body. Make Him real in your life.

Psalm 27:8 AMPC, “When You said, Seek My face in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need, my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord, I will seek on the authority of Your word.”

Did you read that underlined words? The Father God yearns for you to seek His face in prayer. He desires for you to crave His presence as your greatest need. Like David, will you also say to Him “Your face, O Lord, will I seek on the authority of Your word”?

The end of the matter

Seek Him in prayers. Seek Him in His written words. Pour yourself over His promises. Pour out yourself before Him in worship. Sing a new song unto Him in the spirit. Let your worship delight Him. Bring before Him a sweet aroma of your spirit in worship, in silence, in awe, in adoration, in spiritual songs, in praises. Whatever it is, do it for the King of kings.

He is waiting for you in His secret place. Yield to Him and you will experience the Ancient of Days. It is a journey. Don’t stop. Don’t plateau. His Spirit is our Helper! Heaven is here! When the Holy Spirit descended like a mighty torrent blast on that day of Pentecost, the earth never remained the same. Heaven is here.
