Do you know that you can be in heaven every now and then in the spirit to fellowship with the Father and the Lord Jesus? Yes, you read right. So I can imagine the puzzled expression on your face, like – what are you talking about?. I make no apologies for causing you to think that way. It is the truth. And I’ll prove it to you. Simply follow me. By the way, I’m not referring to astral travel or any other non-divine channels. I’m talking of the genuine way that the scripture mentioned.
Go with me to Hebrews 12:22-24:
“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.“
Okay! I hope you are beginning to understand where I’m going. When I say that going to heaven every now and then to fellowship with the Father is scriptural, you must know that as God’s children, we have fellowship with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, who are spirit beings. The only means we can communicate with them is with our spirits. Apostle John said in Revelations 1:10, I was in the spirit and I heard…God the Father made man in His likeness and image. He made men and women like Him. The Lord Jesus said in John 4:24, that “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
How can the Most High expect us to worship Him in spirit, if He has not provided us with the means to do so? That would have made Him unjust. But far from it! He is El Shaddai, All Sufficient One. He made us spirits.

I was going to say, He gave us spirits. But the actually expression is He made us spirits with souls, living in a body of flesh. So our fellowship with the Father, the Son and His Spirit is with our regenerated spirits. You cannot worship or contact God without your spirit being regenerated through what we call a born-again experience (accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, believing inside you that He came to die for your sin and through His death and resurrection, you can now have eternal life). Click here to read more about my article on that a while ago. I repeat – our fellowship with the Father, the Son and His Spirit is with our regenerated spirits.

Fellowship with the Father and Son
Apostle John said in 1 John 1:3 that “…truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” Did you read that? Our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. How? To help us understand, let me ask you a few questions about that: Where is the Father? Where is Jesus Christ His Son? The obvious answer is: They dwell in the invisible realm; in the spiritual realm of His Kingdom. The Father dwells in an eternal realm. You cannot contact Him and His Son Jesus with your physical senses. But only with your spirit.
That is why the writer of Hebrews said, “…you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:22-24.
That is you! That is me! In the regeneration of our spirit when we accepted Jesus Christ into our life (voluntary and intentional decision), the Lord Jesus baptized us with the Spirit of His Father. We came alive unto God. When a man or woman believes in his/her heart that Jesus Christ walked the earth in the past, died for his/her sin, sickness, diseases, poverty, and eternal damnation, rose on the third day, and ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father, and he/she confesses that Jesus is now his/her Lord and Saviour; and believes in his/her heart – at that moment, the Holy Spirit comes into that person and quickens or revamps his/her spirit. That person comes alive spiritually unto God! I have a book on that called “Are You Alive?” You can click here to get a copy.
From that moment, you have access through the Lord Jesus to the Father. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” John 14:6. Did you notice that in the days of the early Apostles, the people of the world termed them as people that belonged to the Way sect? Read Acts 9: 1; 24:14 etc. Jesus is the Way to the Father. No man can come unto God except through Jesus Christ.

Through the redemption of your spirit, you now have access to the Father. He is a spirit. Only a revived spirit man can access the Father through Jesus. Know your right.
Let me show you another scripture that the Holy Spirit spoke through Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:18. He says, “For through Him (Jesus Christ) we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”
You have access to the throne of the Father. You are now in the city of the living God. You have access to the innumerable company of angels. You are now in the general assembly and the church of the firstborn. Anytime, you say to yourself, I want to fellowship with the Father, the Spirit of God helps you to stand in the presence of God the Father, the Judge of all; in the presence of Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant.
Mystery
There is a mystery that no man’s mind, no matter how hard he tries, can solve. The Holy Spirit dwells in us. No doubt. There is also another experience like John in the Island of Patmos whereby you are in the spirit and you enter that realm of the Father and the Son Jesus – the heavenly Jerusalem, the innumerable company of angels. There is that experience; that moment when you realize you are a child standing in front of a loving heavenly Father.
While you are physically present on Earth, your spirit connects with the realms of the Father and the Son, and you fellowship with Them with the assistance of the Holy Spirit. Bible says the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. 1 Corinthians 12:7. And the Holy Spirit, gives it to every man and woman, every boy and girl as He wills.
How much of the Father do you desire to fellowship with in your spirit? How much of the Son do you want? There is more for you. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6. Are you thirsting for that which does not perish? Or are you thirsting for that which only lasts for a while? Are you questing after the Father of all spirits? Do you desire the Lord to be real to you as day and night? Do you?

The Spirit says, “Come.” It us up to you. There is no formula to it. You shall seek Me and you shall find Me. Jeremiah 29:13. There is a reason for that. You have Him in your spirit now. He dwells in your body as His temple. 1 Corinthians 6:19.
Be Intentional
You can make it a point of duty to study God’s Word more and more. You can purposefully worship the Father with your spirit through songs and praises to Him. You can choose to obey Him in His written words. You can make an effort to tell others about Him. You can purposefully lead many souls to the Lord Jesus. You can make an effort to pray in tongues on a regular basis. You can make an effort to meditate on God’s Word. You can make a conscious decision to act on the Word. Line after line. Precept after precept. A little of this and a little of that. You move closer to the boundary of the spirit realm.
The Holy Spirit manifests His gifts in your life as He wills, including the gift of discerning of spirits, in which He connects your spirit to the realms of the Father and Son, allowing you to hear and/or see things for yourself. Gradually, you become more and more aware of that realm beyond. I dare to say that even if you never have the opportunity, do not judge yourself unworthy. Stick to His words. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” John 20:29
Believe the Word of God at all time. The manifestation of the Spirit if God is important. Like John said in Revelations 1:10, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet…” What is your desire?
