What are your fears? The visible or invisible? True or false? Do you fear that you are not a match for that fallen being? Tell me! Does he get so big in your mind that you are so conscious of him every now and then? Well, maybe we need to check the scriptures a bit on this. How often do you magnify him with your own lips?
His Fall
To start with, God created all angels as ministering spirits. Psalms 104:4 said God “make His angels spirits.” Amongst them is a class called cherubs. Satan was in that class. He was a cherub that got thrown out of heaven because of his pride, trading, violence and multitude of iniquities. Ezekiel 28: 14 – 17. He was separated from God. By that he became spiritually dead. I hope you read that. He could not fellowship with God again. He was cast out of His sight.
Ezekiel 28: 14 to 17 revealed an interesting information about Satan:
“You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. 14 You were the anointed cherub (Satan) who covers; I (God) established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you. 16 “By the abundance of your trading, You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I (God) cast you as a profane THING out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones.
17 “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you…”
Let me give you another account in Isaiah 14: 12 – 17.
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer (referring to Satan), son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ 15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. 16 “Those who see you will gaze at you, And consider you, saying: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble,Who shook kingdoms, 17 Who made the world as a wilderness And destroyed its cities, Who did not open the house of his prisoners?’
I hope you are not pitying him? Don’t get deceived. He was and is arrogant. He and his cohorts are fallen and away from God’s throne.
A Consuming Fire
The Most High is too holy to behold iniquities. There’s no way Satan and his cohorts can approach His Throne again. Never! There’s no unrighteousness nor sinner in His presence! He dwells in the midst of great fire! His Throne burns with fire. A might ocean of fire pours out of His presence. Read the Book of Revelations. Great terror and fire ooze out of His Presence. He is clothed in great fire. He is a Consuming Fire!
Daniel saw a terrifying vision of heaven and said in Daniel 7:9 – 10, “…His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before Him (the Ancient of Days). Thousands upon thousands attended to Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened…”
Apostle John confirmed the same in Revelation 4:6 and 15 verse 2, “Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal mingled with fire.”. Another translation says, “His throne is mounted on fiery wheels, blazing with fire and a stream of fire pouring out of it.” Another translation says, “He sat on a fiery throne with wheels of blazing fire, a river of fire was pouring out, flowing from His presence.” Did you read that? Just imagine it. The Ancient of Days dwells in great light.
Ezekiel said in chapter 1 verses 27 to 28, “Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.”
Did you read that? Ezekiel, with his several exposure to the spirit realm, could not stand the power of the light emanating from the presence of the Ancient One. He is a Consuming Fire. If you want to feel a bit of it, dwell in His presence.
Just imagine the intensity with which the Sun burns – 15 million degrees Celsius. I bet you that of the Father surpasses that in an immeasurable degree.
Whao! Psalm 19: 1 – 6 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices like a strong man to run its race. Its rising is from one end of heaven, and its circuit to the other end; and there is nothing hidden from its heat.”
Apostle Paul said in 1 Timothy 6:16 that the Ancient of Days dwells in unapproachable light. Great light! Raging fire. Our God is a consuming fire. Oh, when you get closer by His Spirit, you will see it. He burns. He purges us with the fire in His words.
The Ancient One “sits as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He purifies us (His priests), and purges us as gold and silver, that we may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.“ Malachi 3:3. Offering in righteousness. He purifies us! He does! Glory to His name. Who can stand in your holy place, Lord? Who can lift up hands to you without access through Your Son Jesus? Thank you Father! We are grateful for saving us. Counting us worthy to be called Your sons and daughters. Thank you.
Friends, if you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you are still outside His family. Remember, that no sin can dwell in His presence. Saved By Grace
Thank God for our Saviour Christ! Oh, thank God we are saved by grace! Glory be to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has redeemed us to Himself through His Son! When you wake up, remember that. By grace you are saved, not of your works. Not because you think or know you are good. Don’t you dare think like that! Don’t you dare boast in your good deeds. Without Him, we would be lost forever! Let His fear envelope you for what He did for you on the cross and after the resurrection. By grace you are saved – not of your works! Not of mine! Not at all. Jesus did it for us! Did you hear that? Let it sink in.
But you know what! Our adversary and other evil angels have no provision for their repentance. No they don’t. They are eternally doomed. Aren’t you graced? Glory be to God that He made one for us! We are not eternally doomed! No, we are not! No, You Are Not Doomed (you can click to read that later).
We were bought with a price! 1 Corinthians 6:20. The blood of Jesus! Glory be to God!
David, speaking by the Holy Spirit, said in Psalm 8:4-6, “What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels (translated as Elohim in Hebrews). And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet.”
He made man a little lower than Elohim, that is, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. Man was created in His image and likeness. For God said to the Son and the Holy Spirit in Genesis 1:26, “Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness…” That is you and I. That is all mankind!
He made man to have dominion over all His works. Man was, by original design, above all except the Elohim! The non-sinful man was above angels including cherubs in ranking.
I tell you, even if Satan had not committed treason against God, he would still be beneath the non-sinful man in ranking and power. The Father made us so!
But Satan and his cohorts fell. And he deceptively lured God’s man (Adam and Eve. Plus you and I in time past) away to sin against Him in the garden of Eden. And all men and women became Devil’s children by nature.
He dragged man (I mean, all humanity) down to spiritual death as him. We became dead in transgression. We lived according to the dictates of Satan and fulfilled the lusts of our flesh – became subject to wrath of God. Became children of Satan, estranged from God. “BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2: 1 – 4.
Glory be to God!!! I say, Glory be to God!! Well, if you are not excited about that scripture, you are either not aware of what you have received or you have not encountered Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Not to worry. You and I were raised from spiritual death we had been in until we came to Christ. We are now seated with Him, restored back to God, seated with Christ at the right hand of the Father far above cherubs, including that fallen cherub, and even other principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness on high places.
Did you see that? We won’t yield to his wiles in Jesus name. He’s deceptive. No, we won’t in Jesus name! You are above him. I say, you are above him. I am above him. In Christ, I’m his boss because the Super Boss is in me! Did that make you laugh or chuckle? Glory be to God! The Greater One lives in me! Yes! He lives in me. He is in Me. He is in you if you are born again! The Holy Spirit is in me! Hallelujah. I get stirred up like fire when I see this.
See, friends, by original design (before the fall) we were above all the evil angels. By regenerating our spirits, we are now above them.
We are above him. Jesus in whom we are now is no match for him. Not at all.
You’ve got to stop blowing his trumpet that he’s very powerful as though you are like a grasshopper! Are you in the wilderness? Are you amongst the doubters? You are in the kingdom of God now. You didn’t need to shout down the wall of Jericho! By grace you are saved. The Father Himself transferred you from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His dear Son the moment you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Read Colossians 1:13 to yourself. You will see it.
“BUT God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, MADE US ALIVE TOGETHER WITH CHRIST (by grace you have been saved), AND RAISED US UP TOGETHER, and MADE US SIT TOGETHER IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS.” Ephesians 2: 1 – 4.
You don’t believe that, right? You can’t fathom it? Like, “How can I be here on earth and be saying I’m seated in heaven with Christ?” Is that it? Is that your thought? Tell me. When you look around you, can you really fathom who made all things? Can you fathom why you lie down at night and you are gone completely? Only to wake up after few hours! Can you explain that? Can you? Where did the dead go to? Why do you yearn to talk to Someone up there to help you? Let me tell you; there is God! There is God!! Don’t you doubt that! Don’t you doubt what God says. Just say I receive it. I believe it. Walk in it.
The Greater One Inside Me
We are greater than any force of darkness in the whole universe! Simply because of the redemptive work of Christ Jesus. We are seated with Him in heavenly places. We are in Christ. By reason of that, we are greater than them all. The Greater One is in you!
The Spirit of the Almighty God dwells in us! Yes! He dwells in us. God the Father said in Ezekiel 36:27, “I will put My Spirit within you.”
Jesus said, I will send you another Comforter (the Holy Spirit) and He will dwell in us and with us. John 14:17. The Holy Spirit had come since Pentecost filling every believer! Yes!!! The Holy Spirit is in us. Greater is He that is in us than Satan that’s in the world! 1 John 4:4
Through consciousness of our spiritual position in Christ, Satan is no match for us! Not us fearing him. Stop magnifying him!
Lay hold on the redemptive reality of what is in you. Lay hold on the promises of Christ for us. Lay hold on the power in His name and enforce your authority in Christ in every situation. In the name of Jesus, you are victorious. You and I are more than a conqueror! Romans 8:37
Satan will flee from us when we resist him with the Word of God and in the name of Jesus! Glory be to God! Stop being devil conscious. Be God conscious!
How?
Feed more on the Word of God! Declare His words to yourself. Believe it. Dwell in His Presence. Spend time with the Holy Spirit and you will gradually loose consciousness of him. Spend time to wait on Him. Spend time to worship Him. Study about Him everyday. As you are reading this, if ‘something’ tells you, “Are you sure?” Scream, “Shut up in Jesus name! I am what God says I am.” As that thought ceases in your head, you have just exercised the authority in the name of Jesus. Do that often and you will see the power in that name come life more and more in your life. Glory be to God!
